Seth Godin - Drip by Drip (a brief) guide to bringing your passion project, or anything for that matter, into the present)

This is my adaptation of a blog authored by Seth Godin: I substituted two words, but this is Seth’s work. He blogs daily. https://seths.blog/)

Drip by drip. That’s how passion projects become real. I recommend 10 minutes a day. We know it’s not enough time, but we also know that ten is more than zero. And when you start with ten, magical things can happen.

Imperfect and in-progress are the only way forward.

Try “10 minutes a day.” See what happens.

How long should someone meditate? Some say that frequency is more important than length of time. If you meditate 90 seconds everyday, you will still notice the benefits.

The same, I guess, could be said for exercising and writing. If you write something everyday — something, anything — you will become a better writer, and automatically write quicker, because you’re exercising your writing muscle everyday.

I once had a dog, and as she grew older I needed to make sure she was “vacating” everyday. A dog walker came twice a day during the work week. I always left her a brief note in the morning informing her if Natty had vacated that morning. Those notes gradually became longer and more creative. One morning I wrote this silly thing.

The chicken has its coop.

The front porch has its stoop.

The Boy Scouts have their troop.

The restaurant has its soup.

And today, Natty made a poop.

Silly, and not really anything of significance? Yes, absolutely.

A brief creative moment in time, doing something I love, and practicing it everyday? Yes, absolutely.

Take 10.
