Trust the Process

Wait…what happened? How did I get here?”

I’ve been talking about the “process” a lot recently – more specifically to the artists with whom I’m in a creative and career and creative advisor capacity.

You have a process that you’ve been following for the past 3 - 6 months.

Look back at all the small, medium and loud events, encounters and achievements that have come your ways during that time. Take a moment and think about what’s happened in the past six months…How did you get here?

Your process. Your process is working.

Trust your process.

I’ve had this conversation with multiple composers and performers. They tell me that their previous career stress and anxiety are barely present.

Things are going so well, living that process every day, there’s no time or space for any stress and anxiety to intrude.

Similarly, there’s no rushing, forcing or pushing necessary because you don’t have to. Because your process is working all on its own.

The funny thing is that when I ask, “You really weren’t aware that all of your productivity, creativity and inner calm was in place and working for you…were you?”

They almost always respond, “No…not until this moment.”

What’s the process you have in motion and are following right now?

Is it working?

Are things coming to you easily and seemingly without effort?

If so, it’s working. Keep trusting the process.

If not, focus on the one most important thing, at this precise moment, that’s deep at the heart of the career you want.

I’d be happy to talk with you about your most important thing, and your process, but I have to warn you that you might be underwhelmed by the simplicity of it all.

No fee. Just conversation.
