“It’s your thing…do what you want to do” What you do for love

I do this – All Art is Personal™ – for love and money.

Often just for love.

I never do it for money.

Do you remember the first time you heard music, and realized it was a “thing?”

Do you remember the first time you heard music, and realized it could be your “thing?”

What if you brought that same early joy and wonderment into the present and only performed, and only sought out musical opportunities, for the pure love of it.

Reality and Practicality Check

You have to pay your bills. This might not be the right time to turn down work, or quit your day job.

And, playing just for the love of it does not mean working for free.

But what if you gradually adjusted your mindset to look for those more music-loving opportunities? Maybe, for now, it means turning down the worst gigs.

And, if you do turn down that gig, you know the one – where between time spent, and travel back and forth, you barely break even.

What might you see or find? What might appear before you in plain sight?

A better opportunity.

It’s a mindset thing, it’s a trust in yourself thing, and it’s a smart, well thought out leap of faith that you are well-positioned to do right now.

Start small. You’ll soon see that you have a musical garden of creative opportunities with much fewer weeds.
