I’m just starting to get to know you better, like what you do as an artist – maybe you have a brief artist statement, and where you focus your talents. What you look like etc.
But before I can get to know you, about 10 seconds in, a popup glides quickly across, or up and down, my screen covering some or all your home page.
This popup may contain something important – an upcoming concert, a new recording, or another upcoming event. Whatever content is inside this popup, it’s damn annoying.
Please stop interrupting us from getting to know you, and what you really do – especially after we’ve only been on your site for less than ten seconds.
What if someone is thinking about offering you a concert or speaking engagement, a residency etc?
Don’t make your website visitor work too hard – you only have about 5 – 10 seconds to grab their attention.
